Met Office weather: Day-by-day forecast as UK set for mix of sun and rain

The weather is likely to be a mixed bag over the coming days.

We have put together the Met Office's predictions for the rest of this week's weather both in Bristol and the UK as a whole.

In Bristol, the experts say Thursday should see highs of 22C, with sunny spells and some clouds.

There should be a slight dip on Friday to a peak of 21C, with overcast weather and some light rain.

Saturday and Sunday are likely to see temperatures reach 21C and 22C respectively, with clouds and some sunshine.

As for the UK-wide forecast, the Met Office says this about Thursday: "Cloudier skies in the southeast with showers, perhaps turning heavy before clearing in the afternoon.

"Elsewhere sunny spells with scattered heavy, possibly thundery showers mainly in the north and west."

And the outlook for Friday to Sunday is as follows: "Turning unsettled through Friday with rain and locally heavy, thundery downpours moving east.

"Sunshine and scattered thundery showers Saturday. Drier on Sunday before further rain arrives into the northwest."
