Met Office warns temperatures could plummet to near freezing in Bristol

The Met Office has warned that temperatures could plummet next week as the weather is set to turn.

The forecast predicts that temperatures in the area could drop to two degrees celsius as the cold front takes hold.

The wintry weather is expected to arrive in full force next Tuesday (November 23) with the weather set to be at its coolest.

Whilst more mild weather is expected throughout the weekend, next week will see a drop off in the winter warmth.

From Tuesday night into Wednesday, temperatures are predicted to drop to two degrees, with clear skies across the region.

However, the coldest period will come in the early hours of Wednesday morning, where it is predicted that frost and fog could take hold.

There’s unlikely to be any snow in the area next week but the forecast has said some 'wintry showers' could arrive in the region come the end of the month.

The Met Office has said from Wednesday that: "Moving into this period, a band of rain will work its way southeast across the UK, followed by brighter conditions as well as blustery winds and showers. As the period continues, the weather will generally arrive to the UK from north, bringing colder conditions and intervals of rain or showers. Wintry showers likely over high ground, and possibly falling to low levels at times.

The forecast for Bristol predicts:

Monday - Clear skies. Highest temperature of eight degrees with lows of three.

Tuesday - Clear skies, highs of eight degrees with lows of one.

Wednesday - Fog changing to cloudy by lunchtime. Highs of six with lows of three.

Thursday - Cloudy changing to sunny by late morning. Highs of seven degrees and lows of one.

Friday - Cloudy. Highs of seven with lows of four.
