Raincoats at the ready... as Greater Manchester is set to be lashed with downpours later this week.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning covering our region for Thursday. The alert for heavy rain will be in place from midnight until 11.59pm - so will last the entire day.
Forecasters predict heavy downpours over Greater Manchester, as well as over parts of Yorkshire, Cumbria, Scotland and in the south. There is a 'small chance' that the heavy rain could lead to flooding, according to the Met Office.

Homes and businesses 'could be flooded', the warning states, with the possibility of some damage caused to buildings. Disruption is expected on some roads and on public transport due to the rain.
Cancellations or delays to bus services and trains are 'likely'. Forecasters predict heavy rain to fall in Greater Manchester until at least 5pm on Thursday.
After this, light showers are predicted. Temperatures will hit highs of around 10C.

Today (Wednesday), conditions are expected to be mostly dry and cloudy until the rain hits late into the evening. The mercury will reach a high of 10C.
Friday is forecast to be a mostly dry day once the rain has cleared in the morning, with the mercury dropping slightly to a high of 9C. Into the weekend, Saturday is forecast to be sunny and cloudy and on Sunday, heavy rain is predicted to fall in the morning before cloudier conditions set in.
