The Met Office has issued an urgent weather warning for Liverpool, with heavy rain forecast to hit the city tonight.
The weather organisation has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for Merseyside which starts at 9pm tonight.
The warning lasts until 9am tomorrow, with warnings of flooding and travel disruption.
The warning said: "Heavy rain may cause travel disruption and some flooding.
"Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.
"Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.
"Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer."
Liverpool has faced plenty of rain already this week, but there is more on the way and people should be prepared.
The Met Office forecast for Liverpool said: "Wednesday will see a cloudy start with a few scattered showers but some sunny spells, these becoming more frequent and long-lived through the day. Generally breezy and turning drier. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
"Cloud thickening this evening as rain moves in from the west, affecting most of the region overnight. Winds briefly easing through the evening before picking up again during the night. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

"Cloud lingering on Thursday morning, with some light rain possible. A mixture of sunny spells, patchy cloud and showers is likely for the rest of the day. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
"Sunshine and scattered showers are to be expected across the region on Friday and through the weekend, although it may be drier on Sunday. Breezy and rather cold throughout."
