Met Office three-day weather warning in place for South West

The Met Office has issued three days of weather warnings for the South West.

Heavy rain has fallen overnight prompting the Environment Agency to issue a number of flood alerts for Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

Large swathes of the region were gripped by an overnight warning which expired at around 9am.

But forcasters have updated their alerts and have issued a new warning for heavy rain, which will be in force from 9pm until 9am tomorrow (Saturdat, October 30).

A new warning for heavy rain will be in place from midnight Sunday to 3pm, and will take in the Westcountry, South Wales and all of South England.

  • Heavy rain leading to some flooding and disruption in places.
  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
