Met Office says when thunderstorms will hit Leeds with yellow warning issued

Sadly Leeds is not set for a summer of sun if the latest forecast is anything to go by.

The recent weather forecast from the Met Office predicts that Leeds, and many parts of Yorkshire, will see heavy showers, winds and the risk of thunder storms over the coming days.

Showers are expected to start today (August 5) and continue overnight - with the rainfall expected to be heavy in some areas of the county.

Scattered showers are set to continue on Friday, before becoming more frequent and heavier.

There is also a risk of thunder in the afternoon.

Over the weekend and into next week there will be sunny spells with more showers - and even more risk of thundery downpours.

Then, less frequent and lighter showers are set for Monday.
