Met Office say sunshine on the way after a chilly start

You may find that you're feeling the cold when you first walk out of the front door to start your day this morning. The Met Office has forecast that we're in for a chilly start to the day. But fear not, it won't last.

Once we head into the afternoon, we're set for a warm day with plenty of sunny spells, weather forecasts suggest. The Met Office says on its website: "After a chilly start, it will be another warm day with plenty of sunny spells. Easterly winds will strengthen so feeling slightly less warm." It has forecast a maximum temperature of 17 °C.

BBC Weather forecasts say roughly the same, with its forecast for the day ahead reading: "It will be a dry day with plenty of sunshine. Some variable cloud may develop at times, but sunny spells will also persist. Turning a little breezier." For Cardiff and Swansea, the weather service predicts the city is set to enjoy highs of 17°C. and lows of 9°C. The Met Office says it is set to be cloudier on Friday and into the weekend, adding: "There may be some light showers at times, mainly over the high ground, but mostly dry. Feeling cooler in a brisk wind."

And BBC forecasts: "Friday will be mostly cloudy at first with a few patches of light rain. Turning drier and brighter in the afternoon, but there will be a few areas of cloud around. Remaining cloudy overnight and into Saturday, with a few showers around through the day, heavy in places. Staying breezy on Sunday, but turning drier, with sunny spells."
