Met Office say more rain is on the way following weekend of storms

Wales was battered by wind and rain over the weekend - and it doesn't look like the bad weather is going away any time soon.

According to the Met Office it looks as we've got a bit of a mixed bag in store for us this week before even more rain is set to arrive.

Monday will start off quite dry and bright in most places, but showers could develop into the afternoon.

Tuesday will also be largely dry and bright with the odd shower in places, but cloud will increase overnight bringing in heavier rain and windy conditions by Wednesday morning.

The Met Office said this heavy rain should ease off later in the day.

Thursday should be mainly dry but we're set for another wet and windy weekend with the wet stuff returning on Friday and over the weekend.

Discussing Monday and Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the Met Office said: "It'll be dry on the whole with a few light showers.

"We'll see lower temperatures than we have for the last while.

"This changes on Wednesday with a band of rain moving across the country from Tuesday into Wednesday.

"This'll bring rain to Wales on Wednesday morning.

"Even though this clears the rest of the day will be quite grey."

Even though Thursday is looking a little drier for most, the weather is set to take another turn for the worst next weekend.

The whole country is at risk of seeing some heavy rain, with conditions being particularly breezy along western coasts on Saturday.

As Friday, August 16, is set to be one of the worst days of the week, this is what it'll be like where you live.
