Met Office reveals how long the sunshine and warm temperatures will last

Wales is set to enjoy a period of warm and sunny weather for the rest of this month, forecasters have revealed.

But as we head into April rain is likely to "push through" and lead to lower temperatures, the Met Office has warned.

Tonight could see a few spots of rain across most parts of the country, but things turning more pleasant as the week goes on.

Sarah Kent, Met Office meteorologist said: "It looks as though high pressure is going to dominate and that will give us largely settled conditions.

"However wind fronts in the north and west will be making progress south-eastwards at times so we're running the risk of seeing spots of rain.

"In between having these more settled spells, temperatures will be on the warm side but it's still going to be cold enough for morning frosts and fog.

"By the first week of April, it does look as though things will become more unsettled for a week or so with bouts of rain pushing through and temperatures will actually fall a bit below average."

The weather forecast for Sunday evening shows scattered showers across north Wales which will spread across the rest of Wales overnight, but will become increasingly isolated during the small hours.

On Monday it will be cloudy in places first thing with a risk of one or two showers which will become more isolated later on.

Most of Wales will be dry with sunny intervals and maximum temperatures of 14C.

For the rest of the week it will be largely dry with sunny spells and light winds with warm temperatures but patchy frost and fog could form overnight.
