Met Office predicts when it will be sunny again in Liverpool

July is meant to be the height of summer, with glorious sunshine dominating our weather, but so far this month has been filled with rain and dismal days.

People have had to swap their suncream for umbrellas as rain persists across the city.

Sadly this week the forecast shows no solid sign of sunshine, but there's a glimmer of hope for some brighter days at the weekend.

Temperatures are also on the up, with temperatures predicted in the high teens.

Wednesday has seen rain showers across the city, but the rest of the day is set to be dry but cloudy.

The rest of the week looks mixed, but Friday could see some sunny spells developing in the afternoon.

This is what the Met Office forecast for the North West said: "A generally cloudy day with a scattering of showers. In the afternoon, it will stay cloudy but it will become drier. A moderate westerly breeze.

"Remaining mostly cloudy through the night but it should stay dry for most. A moderate to fresh northwesterly wind.

"Most areas will remain dry tomorrow with a mixture of sunny spells and variable cloud. It will also feel a touch warmer with a southwesterly breeze developing.
