Met Office predicts weather Liverpool can expect this summer

Liverpool's hot and sunny weather could be set to last for the summer, with a few hiccups mixed in, according to the Met Office.

Merseyside has been enjoying some much longed for sunshine over the past couple of weeks and this week will see the warm weather continue.

Temperatures in Liverpool are set to stay in the mid-20s for the whole week, cloud could increase but the sunshine is set to return at the weekend.

The Met Office forecast for the North West this week said: "Wednesday will be largely dry during the morning with some sunny spells. Cloud increasing from the west into the afternoon bringing occasional patches of light rain. Breezy, but feeling warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

"Sunny spells and outbreaks of rain on Thursday and Friday, though drier in southern areas. More settled on Saturday, but feeling cooler than recently. Some coastal and hill fog possible."

The long range forecast for June 12 to June 21 reveals that dry and settled weather is set to remain in place, with "very warm perhaps hot" weather.

But there could also be thunderstorms and gales at the end of the period.

The forecast said: "High pressure is likely to bring a lot of dry and settled weather across the country at first.

"The exception is across the far northwest where occasional spells of cloud and rain accompanied by stronger winds are likely.

"Temperatures here are expected to be near normal but elsewhere it is expected to be very warm perhaps hot for a time.

"As we head into the second half of next week, there are signs that less settled conditions could extend to other parts of the country with temperatures returning to nearer normal by the end of the week.

"This change is likely to be accompanied by a spell of rain, potentially thundery in places, and some stronger winds than of late.

But the end of June will see the settled conditions return with temperatures above average.

However by early July there is more chance of unsettled conditions returning.

The forecast said: "A good deal of fine and dry weather across much of the UK for the end of June, although there could be a few showers in places and perhaps some rain in the far north at times.

"Temperatures are likely to be above average.

"By the end of June and into early July, conditions will probably become more unsettled with an increasing chance of rain spreading across the UK."
