Temperatures of -1C are expected in Newcastle Upon Tyne - and other parts of the North East.

Synoptic charts which predict weather across the UK show that bitter conditions will continue next Friday, hitting England, Scotland and Wales - and UK residents can expect more snow to fall on the 13th of December.

Flurries of snow coupled with icy conditions could cause transport and travel issues across the UK over the next two weeks.

Parts of the North East have already seen heavy snow landing over the weekend, giving them a taste of what to expect further over the next fortnight.

This all comes after Storm Arwen battered parts of the North East, as well as Scotland - causing heavy damage to properties with recorded 98 mph winds - 140,000 homes were also left with no power due to surges.

The storm also claimed three lives over its duration.
