Met Office latest: When heavy rain and freezing temperatures are heading to Bristol

The Met Office is predicting some less than ideal weather over the next week.

On most of the coming days we are likely to see relatively sunny skies, but 'feels like' temperatures could be very cold, according to the forecaster.

The sun is set to shine intermittently today (December 1), with highs of 6C, but the 'feels like' figure is predicted to be 0C at points.

Monday is also likely to see sun, but it should be an extremely cold morning, with temperatures feeling like -2C at 9am.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are likely to be similar to Monday, with slightly warmer mornings and similar peak temperatures of around 7C.

Rain is unlikely on any of those days, though skies are expected to become cloudier as the week progresses.

And on Friday, the forecast is for rain in the morning and heavy downpours in the early afternoon, which should ease off as the evening nears.

The Met Office's forecast for December 5 to 14 is as follows:

"A north and south split on Thursday, with the south seeing some cold, frosty and settled weather.

"The far north should see some blustery showers, which will be replaced by more extensive cloudier, windier weather with the northwest upslopes seeing the heaviest rain.

"Temperatures nearer to normal than recently. Over the weekend and into the following week, a more changeable theme is likely with spells of more organised cloud, rain and stronger winds followed by some brighter, showery and colder interludes.

"The heaviest rainfall is likely across the northwest with snow over northern hills, possibly to lower levels at times. Temperatures are likely to remain at or slightly below normal with occasional milder interludes mainly in the south."
