Sunglasses may give way to brollies and coats as the hot weather could break violently later today.
The mercury is set to push 30C in Nottingham and the county between 4 and 7pm today but after the sunshine comes rain - a lot of it.
The Met Office is forecasting that there may not only be rain but thunder and lightning too.
The weather experts have issued a warning about thunder and lightning which may cause power cuts, damage buildings and travel delays.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning predicting that the thunderstorms could hit between 6pm tonight and 9am tomorrow.

A spokesperson said: “Scattered thunderstorms moving north tonight and early Wednesday could lead to some power cuts and travel delays.
“There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
“There is also a small chance of damage to property from lightning strikes, hail or strong winds, leading to some damage to buildings or structure.
“These conditions mean there is a small chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.”
