The alert says: "River levels have risen at the Chew Stoke river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall today Saturday 30/10/21.

"We expect flooding to affect the fords on Mill Lane and Pilgrims Way in Chew Stoke and The Batch and Dumpers Lane in Chew Magna. Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 36 hours.

Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures and can owners with property flood resilience equipment install it now."
