Met Office issues yellow weather warning for heavy rain and flooding

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for Friday and Saturday (October 25 and 26).

The area to be affected covers almost all of Wales, while Bristol lies just outside the zone - but heavy rain is still expected to hit the city.

This alert will be in place from 12pm on Friday until 11.59pm on Saturday.

After a cloudy Wednesday and Thursday, Bristol is forecast to see rain from early afternoon on Friday and heavier rainfall from 4pm.

This is set to continue until 7am the next day, with lighter rain until 4pm, before the sun breaks out.

  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
  • Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads
  • There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.
