Met Office issues yellow weather warning for heavy rain

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain across the UK this weekend with parts of Wales affected.

Following this week's heatwave and thunderstorms , heavy rainfall is predicted from 9am Saturday morning until 3pm Sunday afternoon.

Wrexham and St Asaph in North Wales will be affected by the rainfall but the rest of Wales can expect warmer and drier spells.

South Wales will see a cloudy start on Saturday morning but this will start to clear up by the afternoon.

West is best with most of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire showing clear skies all day Saturday.

London and the South East of England as well as most of the Midlands, North England, Scotland and Belfast are also affected by the yellow weather warning.

The Met Office said to expect flooding and spray on roads which could lead to difficult driving conditions and road closures with a small chance of flooding near houses and businesses.
