A Met Office weather warning for "dense and freezing" fog has been issued for parts of Wales.

"Visibility may dip below 100 metres in some locations. Fog will tend to lift into low cloud in many areas on Tuesday, though a few spots may stay foggy into the afternoon."
The areas of Wales covered by the warning include Caerphilly, Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Newport, Powys, Torfaen.

The Met Office forecast for Wales this week says: "A cold and frosty start Tuesday with fog slow to clear as sunny spells develop. Temperatures close the average for mid-January, but locally cold where fog persists. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
"A band of cloud and rain sinking south Wednesday with clearer skies following. Generally cloudy with sunny or clear spells both Thursday and Friday with overnight frost for some."
