Met Office issues weather warning for South West

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across the South West as heavy fog is expected across the region.

The warning will be in place from at 5pm tonight (November 29) until 8am tomorrow morning (November 30).

The warning covers all of Somerset and Bristol and much of Gloucestershire, as well as Devon, Cornwall and South Wales.

The Met Office warning says travel disruption is "likely" as a result of the conditions.

The warning says: "Dense fog patches likely to lead to some travel disruption."

Problems with public transport including bus and train services are also to be expected, according to the weather service.

Avon and Somerset Police further warned drivers in the region about the potentially dangerous conditions on the roads tonight.

The tweet says: "The Met Office has issued a weather warning for later today with dense fog forecast, which may impact on driving conditions."

The fog comes after snow was forecast in areas of the UK from next week as winter takes hold.
