Met Office issues weather warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms across Nottinghamshire

Forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms across Nottinghamshire.

The warning, in place from midnight until 9pm on Sunday (August 7), covers the county.

Some flooding is possible with a chance of disruption in some places.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: "There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus."

There could be delays to train services and the flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.

Forecasters also say damage to some buildings and structures is possible.
