Met Office issues weather warning for Bristol - again

Bristol looks set to be buffeted once again this week with further weather warnings for strong winds.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind for the Bristol area running from 9am on Tuesday, August 25 to 3pm on Wednesday, August 26.

Forecasters say the area will see another period of strong wind and gales, with some disruption to transport possible.

They are also warning the inclement weather may cause problems for high-sided vehicles and delays on exposed routes and bridges.

Coastal areas are also at risk from large waves due to the strong winds and high tides.

The winds may also cause some power outages.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: "It will be wet and windy on Tuesday with heavy downpours of rain and gales possible.”

The Bristol area has seen a week of rain and strong winds.

The conditions, coupled with high Spring tides, prompted to coastguard to carry out safety patrols of coastal resorts.

But the news is not all bad as the weather looks like it will buck up a bit for the bank holiday weekend.

The wind and rain will ease and be replaced sunny spells and showers.
