Merseyside has been experiencing Autumn sunshine recently, perfect for crisp walks in the falling leaves - but if you were planning on heading out this weekend, you may want to think again.

Liverpool is set to be hit by 38 hours of heavy rain from Saturday morning until Sunday evening.

The yellow weather warning is in place from 3am on Saturday until 6pm on Sunday, with the Met Office warning of flooding and disruption to transport.

The warning said: " Heavy rain is expected to bring some flooding and transport disruption.

"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

"Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

"There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.

"There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads.

"There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses."

The forecast for the North West said: "Tomorrow, it will be a cloudy day with some strong easterly winds. Rain will persist throughout the day, becoming heavy in places.
