Liverpool is set to be hit with snow and ice next week after the Met Office issued a three-day weather warning.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice which comes into force on Monday at 9pm and lasts until 11.45pm on Wednesday.
The weather organisation warned of significant travel disruption and said rural communities could become cut off.
Their yellow weather warning said: " Snow, with a risk of widespread ice, is likely to push slowly northeast from late Monday, bringing difficult travel conditions.
"Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers, with bus and train services potentially delayed or cancelled. Some road closures and longer journey times are possible.
"Possible delays or cancellations to air travel.
"Some rural communities could become cut off.
"Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.
"A chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
"Untreated pavements and cycle paths might be impassable."
In Liverpool temperatures are set to plummet with highs of only four degrees predicted in the early part of next week.
Monday should be a dry and cloudy day, but Tuesday and Wednesday sees sleet and wintry showers arrive in Liverpool.

The Met Office forecast for the North West said: "After a sunny and cold start Sunday clouds increase in the afternoon with rain and snow spreading from the southwest.
"Snow most widely over hills but perhaps falling to low levels in places.
"Bright or sunny spells on Monday and the chance of rain and hill snow late.
"A further risk of rain and snow into Tuesday although any snow should turn to rain later on."
