A yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for Greater Manchester this weekend after Storm Christoph caused chaos across the region.
The storm first brought torrential rain on Wednesday, then turned to snowfall in what residents called 'bonkers weather'.
Thousands of homes had to be evacuated due to 'dangerously high' water levels and the River Mersey came 'very close' to breaching its banks.
It is believed the worst of the dramatic weather has now passed, but the Met Office has issued another yellow warning for this weekend.
The warning for snow and ice covers the whole of Greater Manchester and comes into force from 4pm today (Friday).
It is due to end at 10.30am on Saturday morning.
Forecasters predict that snow and ice may cause travel disruption tonight and early Saturday.
Icy patches are to be expected on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths and some roads and railways are likely to be affected by snowfall.
In Greater Manchester, wintry showers are expected tonight, falling as snow for some, especially over higher ground.
Clear spells are expected between showers with a widespread frost and a risk of ice.
It will feel cold and temperatures could drop to as low as minus 2C, forecasters predict.
On Saturday, a frosty start is expected with more snowy showers that could turn heavy at times.
It will be another cold day, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 4C.
