Met Office issues second yellow weather warning for Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2019 weekend

The Met Office has issued a second yellow weather for Bristol - this time for strong winds.

Much of England and the entirety of Wales has been covered by the warning, which is in place from midnight until 11.59pm on Saturday (August 10)

The news could potentially cause disruption at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, which is set to run from Thursday to Sunday.

The warning follows another yellow alert issued earlier today, which forecasts heavy rain and the potential for thunderstorms across swathes of the United Kingdom.

That warning is in place from midnight on Friday (August 9) until 11.59pm.

Saturday's warning predicts particular disruption during the daytime, with delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport likely.

The Met Office has also said there is a chance of short term power loss and disruption to other services, and coastal routes and sea fronts are likely to see spray and large waves.
