Yellow weather warning issued for Bristol - what the Met Office has said

Bristol residents have been told to expect "some injuries" when icy conditions take hold tomorrow (Wednesday, February 26).

The Met Office has issued two weather warnings, with the ice alert covering Bristol.

The Met Office website states: "Icy stretches likely to bring some travel disruption overnight and into Wednesday morning."

The ice warning runs from midnight until 10am.

Residents have been told injuries could be suffered from slipping, with icy patches likely on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Meanwhile, a warning for snow and ice, which affects most of the west of the UK, stops across the Severn Estuary from Bristol.

It adds: "Some roads and railways may be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services."

The forecasters also again flag up the high chance of slipping on icy patches.
