Met Office issues ANOTHER weather warning for South West ahead of Storm Alex

The Met Office has issued another weather warning for the South West this week.

A yellow weather warning for rain will be in place for Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire - as well as other parts of the UK - this weekend.

The warning will come into place on 3am Saturday morning (October 3) until 6pm the following day.

The forecast says flooding and travel disruption is possible.

For Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire the outlook from Saturday to Monday says: "Remaining unsettled over the weekend with heavy rain and strong winds.

"Turning brighter and less windy on Monday with sunny spells interspersed with scattered showers. Feeling rather cold throughout."

Another weather warning for the South West is also in place for tomorrow.

Temperatures will range between 7C and 13C.

What to expect:

  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
  • There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads
  • There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
