Met Office issues 4-day 'extreme heat' warning for Nottingham as temperatures to soar

Nottingham looks set for another spell of long hot weather as the Met Office issued an 'extreme heat' weather warning for the coming days. The mercury is not expected to hit last month's 40C again, but this week there will be temperatures in the high 20s and up to 31C.

The Met Office has said the evenings will also be particularly warm as the hottest of the weather is expected to persist from Thursday, August 11, to Sunday, August 14. An amber weather warning is is place for extreme heat for all four of these days.

The hottest day of the week so far is forecast to be Saturday, August 13, when the mercury will hit 31C. If you struggle with the heat, there is good news on the horizon, as heavy showers are predicted to hit Notts on Monday afternoon, August 15.

Here is the forecast for the next seven days in full

Today: A dry and largely sunny day. Maximum temperature 29C.

Tomorrow: Another warm and dry day with unbroken sunshine. Maximum 30C.

Thursday, August 11: An amber weather warning of 'extreme heat' has been forecast. Cooler temperatures in the morning but could reach as high as 32C as we head into the evening.

Friday, August 12: Another hot and dry day with temperatures expected to be similar to that of Thursday.

Saturday, August 13: A hot and dry day with temperatures of 31C.

Sunday, August 14: A bright day with some cloudy weather and highs of 30C

Monday, August 15: Cloudy in the morning, changing to heavy showers in the afternoon. Highs of 26C.
