Met Office issue stark 'danger to life' flooding warning across Scotland

Scotland will be flooded with rain over the next five days and the Met Office have issued a stark weather warning.

Forecasters are warning a yellow 'danger to life' warning for floods covering all of Scotland.

Met Office issued a weather warning for Thursday (Met Office)

A warning issued on the Met Office website reads: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some travel disruption and flooding in places during Thursday afternoon and evening.

"There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life."

Rain and cold weather is set to hit Scotland over the course of the week (SWNS)

Although heavy downpours of rain are expected this week, the sunshine is set to return on Friday.

Glasgow will have the highest temperatures, peaking 23C on Saturday, while the rest of the country could climb as high as 18C or 19C.

It's set to be another perfect summer weekend and  temperatures are expected to remain high until Tuesday.
