The rest of Sunday

"The wind will be strengthening during the day tomorrow, peaking around early lunch time," he said. "The highest speeds will be between 55-60 mph around the coast but lower inland.

"An unsettled Sunday overall. There will be mild temperatures for the time of year up to 12C but will feel much colder in the wind."

Monday - Thursday

The spokesman said: "On Monday there will be little change. The wind will be breezy but it will be dryer Monday with some sunshine though still cold northerly winds.

"For the rest of the week it is rinse and repeat. Tuesday there is a band of rain and heavy showers and it will be the same Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures staying around average."
