Met Office hour-by-hour weather forecast for Nottingham as snow approaches

Wintry showers and ice are likely to bring some travel disruption across the region overnight on Wednesday and into Thursday morning.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire from 10pm on February 26 until 10am on February 27.

The cold spell follows days of strong winds and widespread flooding which came as a consequence of Storm Ciara on Sunday, February 9 and Storm Dennis on Sunday, February 16.

Temperatures will drop to around 2C, while it will feel as if it has dropped below freezing.

The Met Office has warned that roads and railways could be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train.

The snowy conditions are set to continue through the week, with forecasters warning people it could continue over the next couple of days and urging motorists to take care.
