The recent spell of hot weather is set to continue today (July 11), as temperatures soar across the country. Bristol is forecasted to see highs of 29C, with people being advised to take care in the heat.
A level three heatwave warning was issued by the Met Office on Friday, July 8 for the majority of this week. It warned that today could see weather "becoming widely hot" across the country.
Today is set to be the hottest day of the working week in the city, before temperatures hit 30C at the weekend. And because of the scorching sunshine, people are being warned to look out for others, especially older people, young children and babies and those with underlying health conditions.

The public is also advised to close curtains on rooms that face the sun to keep indoor spaces cooler and remember it may be cooler outdoors than indoors. You should also drink plenty of fluids and avoid excess alcohol, and dress appropriately for the weather.
