Met Office gives day-by-day forecast for week ahead as sub-zero temperatures hit

It is set to be a very cold week in Bristol – but we are likely to see improved weather as it goes on.

Bristol is set to see 'feels like' temperatures of -1C today (January 20), with sunshine throughout the day.

Tuesday is set to be cloudy and the rest of the week largely overcast, but temperatures are set to rise.

'Feels like' highs of 2C are predicted on Tuesday, 5C on Wednesday, 3C on Thursday, 5C on Friday and 7C on Saturday.

In its South West forecast for Monday, the Met Office says: "Another frosty start with localised patches of fog, which may be slow to clear, bringing colder and misty conditions where they linger.

"Elsewhere will see plenty of sunshine throughout. Maximum temperature 9C."

Giving its outlook for Tuesday to Thursday, the forecaster continues: "Frosts will remain Tuesday and Wednesday, but turning milder by Thursday.

"Remaining predominantly dry, though there is a risk of some spots of rain. Turning cloudier than of late."

And in its longer-range UK forecast, which extends to the end of this week, the Met Office says: "Into the weekend, it will be staying cloudy for most with a risk of light rain or drizzle at times.

"However, it is expected to be largely dry and settled with bright spells and light winds."
