Met Office forecasts scorching Bristol weather next week ahead of tropical storm

Bristol is set for at least one more blast of summer sunshine this year.

The Met Office predicts highs of up to 26C for the city next week, but the threat of storms are just around the corner.

Next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are all set to be pleasant days as the forecast stands, with temperatures reaching highs of 24C, 26C, and 24C on those days, respectively, and mostly uninterrupted sunshine predicted.

However, the Met Office says, for the following week or so, that "showers or longer spells of rain are likely, the focus of these perhaps across western areas" of the country.

It continues: "It will also be windy at times, this particularly so around some southern and western coasts and over the hills. There is the potential for some of the rain to be heavy at times, with the risk of some thunderstorms mixed in."

The weather forecast for last two weeks of September is somewhat unclear at present, but the Met Office says tropical storm activity across the Atlantic could "significantly affect" weather here in the UK.

Its best guess is that the "unsettled theme [is] likely to continue through the middle of the month, with a weak indication of possible drier conditions late in September".
