Met Office forecasts last blast of summer weather with temperatures in the late teens and sunshine in Wales

Parts of Wales are expected to enjoy a last blast of summer in the coming days, with temperatures hitting the high teens despite autumn being well and truly upon us.

According to the Met Office, Wales is set to see fresh and mild weather throughout Sunday, with some parts basking in a very unseasonal 18C.

Despite being an unsettled October so far, which has seen some parts of Wales being flooded as a result of torrential rain, we can at least expect the next few days to be bright and largely dry.

While some rain is expected in Wales on Saturday, Sunday should see be a fine day throughout most of the country with lots of sunshine. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, things are expected to remain largely dry with sunny spells.

Some rain might fall in parts of north and east Wales, but mainly we should be in for a bright three or four days, the Met Office predicts.

What is the weather expected to be like where you live on Sunday?

Cardiff:

Sunday will see a cloudy start in Cardiff with the sun breaking through by late morning. It will be a sunny afternoon with temperatures reaching 18C, before cooling off but remaining dry in the evening.

Swansea:

The weather will start nice and bright in Swansea on Sunday, and continue through most of the day, staying at around 17C until the early evening.

Newport:

Things will be slightly more cloudy to begin with in Newport, but sunny spells are still expected through most of the day.

Carmarthen:

Carmarthen will be mostly sunny throughout the day with bright sunshine from around 8am through to 6pm.

Aberystwyth:

(Met Office)

The maximum temperature in Aberystwyth is likely to be around the 15C mark, but the seaside town should still enjoy bright sunshine through most of the day.

Wrexham:

(Met Office)

North Wales will be slightly cooler than some areas in the south, with temperatures in Wrexham hitting a maximum of 15C. However, a cloudy start will still turn into fine and sunny weather by mid-morning.
