Met Office forecasts dry day with some morning rain

Rain is expected in Bristol at around 11am this morning (June 24).

The Met Office forecast shows a warm, dry start to the day - but the BBC warns there is a chance of thundery showers between 6am-8am.

By 11am, according to the Met Office, the chance of rain is 50 per cent, with light rain falling potentially until 1pm.

Both the BBC and the Met Office predict the temperature is expected to be between 17-20 degrees throughout the day and into the evening, with very light wind.

The afternoon is likely to be dry, according to the Met Office, but light rain could return by 8pm, continuing until 11pm or so.

As for the rest of the UK, the Met Office is forecasting thundery rain for northern England and Scotland. Elsewhere, brighter skies will develop after a murky start, with the risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms breaking out.
