Met Office forecast shows temperatures will rise again after last week's Saharan heatwave

Scorching temperatures are set to return to much of the UK this week.

Despite a cooler start to today the mercury will likely hit the mid-20s by Thursday and Friday, forecasters predict.

It's good news for sun worshippers and BBQ lovers who made the most of the UK basking in amazing weather over the weekend - with highs such as 30C being reached in some parts.

It was certainly roasting across the Channel with France recording its hottest day at 45.8C - the kind of sweltering conditions more commonly associated with Saudi Arabia than Europe.

And, while that Saharan Bubble heatwave may have moved on, there's still some glorious weather on the cards for many parts of Wales in the coming days, according to the Met Office.

Best of all, there's little to no chance of any rain.
