Met Office forecast shows how hot it's going to be where you live

Temperatures could soar above 28°C in parts of Wales this week, according to the Met Office.

And it's looking even better for parts of Europe. According to BBC weather presenter Simon King, the record for France's highest recorded June temperature is expected to be broken this week.

At the moment the highest recorded temperature stands at 41.5°C, which was noted in 2003, but the country is likely to see even higher temperatures this week.

This Met Office data shows temperatures potentially reaching 33°C by Friday.

But the temperature in Europe is threatening to reach extreme levels, with record-breaking heat.

As for Wales, it won't be quite as hot as other parts of Europe but there will be an improvement in the weather.

On Tuesday most of us woke up to a gloomy and miserable start as heavy showers were scattered across the country.

But today is meant to be the last of the really bad weather for at least a few days.

Showers are expected to ease later today leaving most of us with some very humid weather.

After this the country should expect a few brighter days as temperatures are expected to see a big rise by the end of the week.

A spokeswoman for the Met Office said: "[Tuesday will see] quite a wet start to the day.

"The rain will be quite persistent until lunch time and later this afternoon the rain will be lighter and patchier.

"It will be largely dry but staying rather cloudy."

As for the temperature, Wales should expect to see highs of around 22°C and the temperatures are set to increase as the week goes on.

Wednesday is also set to get off to quite a cloudy start, but it's thought to be dry and the cloud should start to break up throughout the day.

Maximum temperatures are expected to reach about 23°C.

"Thursday will be a little bit brighter," the spokeswoman added.

"It's basically a much drier day with temperatures of 26°C or 27°C.

"Friday will be a very similar day.

"Temperatures will reach 27°C or 28°C- with some possibly above that."

But the weather is set to be a bit fresher over the weekend.

Forecasters say by Saturday, the temperatures are likely to drop to the 22°C mark, with thundery showers expected to hit parts of the country. The Met Office said this could mean a scattering of showers on Sunday.
