Met Office forecast for when Storm Dennis is set to hit Liverpool

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning as Storm Dennis is set to batter Merseyside.

After a spell of disruptive weather in recent weeks, the UK is set to suffer more devastation as flooding, snow and strong winds are expected to hit the region this weekend.

Yellow weather warnings had been in place for rain and wind but warnings have since been updated to Amber in some parts of the country, with "heavy rain, flooding and disruption to travel" deemed likely.

It is not currently predicted to directly land on Mersyeside but forecasts expect it to make landfall very close to the region.

The harsh weather could potentially disrupt travel over the weekend, with road, rail, air and ferry services subject to potential cancellations.
