Met Office forecast for Wales sees snow expected as temperatures drop

Parts of Wales are facing snow today and tomorrow as winter threatens to make a comeback.

Some snow has already fallen across parts of Wales, causing long delays on the roads.

There has also been snow reported across north Wales, the Preseli mountains in Pembrokeshire as well around Welshpool and Newcastle Emlyn.

A small amount of snow even fell in Cardiff briefly on Tuesday.

Snow at Moel Famau in Ruthin this morning

There are currently long delays due to snow on the B4329 between A487 (Eglwyswrw) and B4313 (Rosebush).

More snow is also due to fall tomorrow.

Thursday

According to the Met Office, there is going to be a mix of clear spells and heavy showers in the early hours of Thursday morning.

This will be accompanied by snow in higher areas. A few fog patches are possible by morning under the clear skies.

Forecasters say the temperatures are going to feel sub-zero for most of Wales - even in places with no snow.

Actual temperatures will range between 1C and 4C - although the Met Office said temperatures it will feel much colder (Met Office)

Friday

No snow is predicted for Friday, but it going to be wet. According to the Met Office the vast majority of south Wales will be seeing a downpour.

North Wales will be mostly dry with scattered showers.

Weekend

The weekend is looking to be a lot warmer and more settled.

The average temperature for this time of year is around 11-12C and the weekend sees them rise to back to this level.

The weather is much more settled with only mid Wales facing widespread rain.
