Met Office forecast for Leeds on Tuesday as heavy rain expected and highs of 14C

People across Leeds will wake up to a cloudier and wetter morning compared to previous weeks.

Heavy showers are forecast today (Tuesday, May 31) with highs of 16C across the city.

According to the Met Office, the region is at risk of hail and possible thunder.

A spokesperson for the weather reads: "Widespread heavy showers again on Tuesday, with a continued risk of hail and possible thunder. Showers easing into the evening. Maximum temperature 16 °C."

Leeds forecast

Leeds can expect a cloudy start to the morning with light showers coming in from 6am.

The city can expect heavy rain from 7am with lighter showers again from 8am.

It will be cloudy across the city for the rest of the morning where light rain will begin into the afternoon.

Heavy rain is forecast from 4pm until 7pm - it will remain cloudy for the rest of the evening into the night.

Highs of 13C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudy with occasional showers on Wednesday. Sunnier on Thursday and Friday, although the odd shower is still possible. Turning warmer towards the end of the week.
