Met Office forecast for Bristol weather is nine hours of rain later on this week

Bristol could see nine hours of rain later on this week, according to the Met Office.

The forecasting service is predicting the weather will be dry, but cloudy today, with temperatures staying between 10C and 11C.

Tomorrow (February 8) will be another dry, cloudy day, while the city may see some rain on Wednesday already.

The Met Office is forecasting light rain from 6am until noon on Wednesday, and then a light shower between 3pm and 6pm.

But it is Thursday where Bristol will see the longest period of continuous rain, according to the forecasting service.

The light rain will start at 3am and continue until noon, with the rest of the day then being dry.

At present, the weather is looking set to be dry next weekend in Bristol.

Across the UK, rain is expecting to hit central areas of the country on Wednesday, but clearing south by Thursday.

This is the South West weather forecast for the next few days:

Today:

A dry start with plenty of sunshine for most, although cloudier across Cornwall and west Devon. All parts turning rather cloudy through the morning, and the odd patch of drizzle developing during the afternoon. A rather mild day. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Skies staying largely cloudy tonight with a few gaps in the cloud here and there, mainly towards the east. A mild night under the blanket of cloud. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Tuesday:

A cloudy start in the west, although some brighter weather in the east, and generally brightening up come the afternoon. Another mild day, but with a brisk wind. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudy with some outbreaks of rain on Wednesday. Still cloudy on Thursday with the chance of further rain in the south. Dry and bright on Friday, and feeling cooler.
