Wales is set to finally bask in some sunshine according to the latest Met Office forecast.
The country has endured some extreme weather in recent weeks, having been battered by Storm Eunice and Storm Franklin, which brought heavy rain and winds up to 100mph, as well as a rare red weather warning. However, the unsettled weather is set to end this week as the sun makes its long-awaited return - although there may still be the odd isolated shower.
The latest Met Office forecast said there would be "largely sunny skies" on Monday, Monday night is set to be dry and mostly clear across much of Wales, with a few fog patches forming, while it may become chilly in some areas, reaching freezing temperatures and potentially leading to a touch of frost by Tuesday morning.

Tuesday will stay dry, with hazy sunshine and light winds, but Wednesday could see outbreaks of rain across Wales for much of the day.
However, the unsettled weather won't last for long, with sunshine returning on Thursday and Friday.
The week-long forecast reads: "A dry and mostly clear [Monday] night across much of Wales, with a few fog patches forming. Becoming chilly where skies remain clear, allowing for a touch of frost by morning. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
"Fog patches will clear on Tuesday morning leaving a fine and dry day with plenty of hazy sunshine. With only light winds it will feel pleasant in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
"Unsettled on Wednesday, with outbreaks of rain only clearing late in the day. The sunshine will return on Thursday and Friday, once any morning fog lifts."
The UK long range forecast from March 18 up to March 27 says temperatures are likely to be mild, with light winds and a chance of showers, and the sunniest weather expected in the south and east.
The more settled conditions come as a weather front bringing spells of wind and rain moves over the UK from the Atlantic.
Last week, Met Office Chief Meteorologist Neil Armstrong said: "This low-pressure system eventually clears to the north on Monday. Beyond this, there are indications that the weather may become more settled as we head into the middle of next week.
"Some rain is still likely, especially in the northwest on Tuesday night and Wednesday, but many places will see longer periods of dry and bright weather developing. Temperatures will remain close to normal for mid-March, with overnight frosts still possible in places, though snow looks unlikely.
"This is still a long way off in forecast terms, so keep an eye on the weather forecast for your area."
