Met Office extend weather warning for heavy rainfall and flooding

The weather warning for heavy rainfall and potential flooding has been extended until midnight tonight.

As reported on Glasgow Live , the Met Office issued the yellow alert across the whole central belt, as well as much of the Borders and northern England,  which was originally to finish at 3pm today.

The warning now affects areas south and south west of Glasgow – including Paisley, Barrhead and parts of East Renfrewshire along with Larkhall and Stonehouse in South Lanarkshire.

The Met Office weather warning reads: “Heavy rainfall may lead to flooding in a few places and travel disruption.

“Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

“Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.”
