Met Office Euro 2020 final weather: 'Risk of thunder and hail' before England v Italy

The Met Office has predicted a "risk of thunder and hail" over the South West before the Euros final between England and Italy.

If you're staying in Bristol to watch the game, your predrinks could turn watery, as light showers are expected from 1pm to 7pm on Sunday, July 11.

But the clouds will break up in time for kick-off at 8pm, giving way to a dry, mild night with temperatures hovering in the mid teens.

The Met Office's regional forecast for Saturday (July 10) to Monday (July 12) predicts "scattered showers throughout the outlook, with a risk of thunder and hail. These showers turning more frequent and heavier on Saturday and Monday."

Of course, all those lucky fans heading to Wembley will have a different set of weather predictions to take into account.

It is set to be cloudy but dry all day Sunday at the London stadium, giving England's players comfortable conditions on home ground.

However, with the mercury reaching 21C at 4pm and only dipping to 19C at 7pm, it could be a sticky match - and that's before anyone's thrown their drink.

Here are the hour-by-hour forecasts for Bristol and Wembley:

Bristol

Hour-by-hour forecast for Bristol on Sunday, July 11 (Met Office)

The day will be mostly cloudy with some light showers possible between 1pm and 7pm. Temperatures remain mild with a gentle south-south-westerly breeze.

Wembley Stadium

Hour-by-hour forecast for Wembley Stadium on Sunday, July 11 (Met Office)

Cloudy all day with no rain forecast. Humidity will sit around 64 per cent by the time the match starts and it will feel like 18C outside the stadium - but likely to be a little warmer inside.
