Met Office Bristol weather forecast for Monday - wet start to the week

The new working week will get off to a very wet start in Bristol and across much of Britain as another band of rain trundles across the country.

The rain will arrive just in time for the rush hour - with persistent heavy rain beginning at around 7am and getting worse by 8am, according to the weather forecast from the Met Office.

Monday will start dark, wet and cool for the time of year, with temperatures struggling to get above 17degC during the morning, as the rain falls.

It will only be lunchtime when the sun starts trying to make an appearance, but the afternoon should get dryer and brighter, with sunny spells as the day progresses.

In the sunshine, and out of the fairly strong south-westerly wind, it might start to feel a bit warm again - temperatures by 4pm could climb up to 20degC again.

The outlook for the rest of the week looks a bit better than Monday morning too.

The Met Office forecast for Tuesday is for a sunny start to the day, but gradually clouding over again by the afternoon - although it will stay dry for once - while there will be a similar day in store on Wednesday with sunny spells and cloudy spells by little or no rain.

By Thursday and Friday, the sun will be out in force, and temperatures of 26degC are forecast for the end of the week.
