Met Office Bristol snow and ice warning in force with travel disruption likely

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice covering Bristol. The warning came into force last night (March 6) from 9pm remaining active until 10am this morning.

The weather forecaster warned there may be some icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. Travel disruption is also to be expected.

A forecast for the south west predicts rain and sleet in parts of the region with the possibility of snow over the hills. According to the Met Office, the cold snap could increase health risks, impact the most vulnerable people, and interfere with the delivery of services.
