Met hunt man who 'sexually assaulted woman after following her off bus' in west London

A manhunt is under way to find a suspect after a woman was followed off a bus and sexually assaulted in west London.

A man allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s as he stepped off the E1 bus when it approached Browning Avenue in Ealing at around 11.50pm on Wednesday, May 21.

The Met Police explained that he then followed her down Park Road where he assaulted her again.

The man was seen on CCTV running north on Park Road following the incident, towards Browning Avenue and the E1 bus stop.

He is described as Black, in his late 20s or early 30s, and approximately 5ft 11in tall, with a slim build. He has dark, curly hair and was captured on CCTV wearing a black jacket and navy blue, Nike t-shirt.

The victim is now being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Constable Teresa Moore, leading the Met’s investigation, said: “Women and girls should be safe to travel on public transport – and walk the streets of London – without being attacked.

“This incident highlights the opportunistic behaviour of the offender so it is really important we locate him as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information, particularly those on the E1 bus on May 21 between 11.45pm and 11.58pm are asked to contact the police on 101 and quote 697/21MAY.
