Amid the fashion designers and celebrity couples who graced the Met Gala 2019 pink carpet, a select few decided to recruit the most important women in their lives to join them for the star-studded occasion.
On Monday evening, creatives from the realms of fashion, art, music, and film celebrated the museum’s latest exhibition opening inspired by the theme “Camp: Notes on Fashion”.
And while Twitter users couldn’t get enough of Lady Gaga’s multiple wardrobe changes on the carpet, Billy Porter’s “royal entrance”, and Katy Perry’s candelabra-inspired dress, we couldn’t help notice the female relationships that were being championed on the red carpet.
As per tradition, US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour was one of the first attendees to arrive at the Met Gala with her daughter Bee Schaffer at her side.
Hours later, reality stars Kylie and Kendall Jenner stole the show in colourful feather-trimmed ensembles, after Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen walked the steps of the Museum in matching black and gold leather button-up dresses.
