BHOPAL: Light showers were witnessed in parts of Bhopal during the day on Tuesday, but largely it was clear weather that prevailed in the city. Showers continued in other parts of the state too; there was also a warning of heavy showers issued for many places.
Met officials said, there is cyclonic circulation over east Rajasthan and low pressure area over Bay of Bengal. Also, monsoon trough is passing from Guna and Sidhi in Madhya Pradesh and there is low pressure area over Orissa and Telangana. All these would lead to heavy showers soon.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Tuesday was recorded at 31.4 degrees Celsius, which was at normal mark, while night temperature was 23.0 degrees Celsius, a degree more than normal mark.
The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm in the day were Khandwa 42.0 mm, Chhindwara 20.0 mm, Mandla 18.0 mm, Betul 10.0 mm, Satna 7.0 mm, Naogaon 7.0 mm, Ratlam 4.0 mm, Shajapur 1.0 mm, Gwalior 0.7 mm, Jabalpur 0.4 mm, Ujjain 0.2 mm Khajuraho 8.0 mm, Malanjkhand 0.8 mm, Umaria 0.6 mm, Dhar 0.2 mm while Bhopal recorded traces of rain.
In forecast for Bhopal on Wednesday, met office stated in a release, there would be partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain. Day and night temperature in the city would be at 31 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively, while average wind speed will be 14 kmph.
